Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of Japan Forwarding.com services. By creating an account or requesting receipt, storage, consolidation, packing or shipment of goods, the customer confirms that these terms have been read and accepted.

1. Service provider

The services are provided by Japan Forwarding.com, a trade name operated by Maria Iwaki as a sole proprietor in Japan. The business address, telephone number and email address are provided at the end of this document.

2. Nature of the service

Japan Forwarding.com provides international forwarding services, including a Japanese receiving address, parcel receipt, identification, temporary storage, consolidation, repacking, document preparation and transfer to shipping carriers. Japan Forwarding.com is not the manufacturer, seller or owner of goods purchased by the customer.

3. Registration and customer responsibility

Customers must provide accurate, complete and current information. Account credentials are personal and must be protected. Accounts involving false information, suspicious activity, fraud, customs evasion or violations of these terms may be suspended or terminated.

4. Suite identification

Each customer receives a unique Suite number. The customer name and Suite number must be entered correctly on every purchase. Parcels received without sufficient identification may be delayed, subject to an administrative fee or impossible to assign to an account.

5. Receipt, inspection and storage

Physical receipt does not confirm authenticity, quantity, quality, operation or legal compliance of goods. Standard inspection may be limited to external identification. Photography, detailed inspection, consolidation, repacking and storage may incur additional fees.

6. Prohibited, restricted and dangerous goods

Customers must not send goods prohibited or restricted by Japan, the destination country or the carrier. The Prohibited and Dangerous Goods page must be reviewed before purchasing or requesting shipment. Japan Forwarding.com may refuse, return, isolate or surrender to authorities any prohibited, dangerous, suspicious or incorrectly declared item. Related costs are the customer’s responsibility.

7. Customs declarations

Customers are responsible for accurately declaring description, quantity, actual value, origin and purpose of goods. Requests to understate value, omit items, use false descriptions or incorrectly declare merchandise as a gift will not be accepted. Duties, taxes, customs storage, penalties and destination charges are the responsibility of the customer or recipient.

8. Shipping calculations and charges

Shipping charges may include actual weight, dimensional weight, dimensions, destination, service level, fuel surcharge, remote area fees, insurance, packaging, consolidation, storage and other services. Quotes remain estimates until final weight, dimensions and carrier availability are confirmed. Applicable charges will be itemized on the invoice.

9. Carriers and delivery estimates

Shipments may be handled by Japan Post, FedEx or another carrier made available through the system. Delivery times are estimates and may change because of customs, weather, inspections, operational restrictions, conflict, holidays, incorrect addresses or other circumstances beyond the control of Japan Forwarding.com.

10. Insurance and compensation

When available, customers may purchase additional coverage offered by the carrier. Limits, exclusions, required documents and claim deadlines are governed by the selected carrier. Purchasing coverage does not guarantee automatic compensation.

11. Payments

Invoices must be paid in full before shipment unless expressly agreed otherwise. Bank charges, currency conversion and payment processing costs may apply. An invoice is considered paid only after funds have been confirmed as received.

12. Cancellation and refunds

Cancellation may be requested before the carrier shipment is finalized. Completed services, used materials, non-refundable fees and third-party costs may be deducted. After transfer to the carrier, cancellation and refund eligibility are subject to the carrier’s rules.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Japan Forwarding.com is responsible only for direct loss proven to result from actions under its control. It is not responsible for acts of sellers, manufacturers, carriers or customs authorities, force majeure, inadequate original packaging, product defects or incorrect information supplied by the customer.

14. Claims

Damage, missing contents or discrepancies must be reported promptly with photographs of the parcel, label, contents and purchase documents. Discarding packaging before the investigation is completed may prevent a carrier claim.

15. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated because of legal, operational or commercial changes. The version and effective date will be published on the website. New acceptance may be requested when necessary.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer rights under applicable law. The parties will attempt an amicable resolution before applying to the competent authorities or courts in Japan.
