Prohibited items
Prohibited items include illegal weapons, explosives, narcotics, counterfeit goods, cash where prohibited, illegal obscene materials, controlled substances and any item whose possession, export, import or transportation is prohibited.
Dangerous goods
Explosives, gases, flammable liquids or solids, oxidizers, peroxides, toxic, infectious, radioactive or corrosive materials require special handling and may be refused.
Batteries
Lithium batteries, loose batteries, power banks and battery-powered equipment may be subject to capacity, quantity, packaging, documentation and transport restrictions.
Restricted items
Medicines, cosmetics, food, beverages, alcohol, tobacco, plants, seeds, animal products, chemicals, perfume, aerosols, magnets and valuable goods may require permits, inspection, documents or prior approval.
Mandatory declaration
Customers must accurately declare all contents, quantities, materials, purpose and value. Generic, false or incomplete descriptions may result in detention, return, disposal, penalties or notification to authorities.
Destination and carrier rules
Availability will be checked against Japan Post, FedEx, Japanese law and destination rules. Countries or services may be blocked when shipment is not permitted.
Costs and responsibility
Inspection, isolation, return, special storage, disposal, penalties and compliance costs resulting from prohibited, dangerous or incorrectly declared goods are the customer’s responsibility.
